RYA Sea Survival

Join us in Port Hamble for our RYA Sea Survival course, a must for anyone going to sea that could save your life one day.

It is a well-proven fact that in an emergency at sea, people with good safety training are more likely to survive.

As well as a classroom session covering procedures to follow in case of a survival situation the RYA Sea Survival Course includes an invaluable practical session in a nearby swimming pool.  You will experience first hand the difficulties of climbing into a life raft whilst fully kitted out in foul weather gear and inflated lifejacket and will learn many simple, but effective sea survival techniques.

This one-day course is an essential pre-requisite to the Commercially Endorsed RYA Yachtmaster and also contributes to one of the modules of the World Sailing/RYA Offshore Safety Course, which is a requirement for many offshore racing sailors.

Format

A one-day sea survival course, run from our dedicated classroom in Port Hamble Marina on a Sunday (9am start), with a practical session in a nearby swimming pool.
